Bord Iascaigh Mhara

Bord Iascaigh Mhara, BIMBord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Seafood Development Agency, provides a range of development, training, business and innovation services to the industry. The agency supports fishermen, fish-farmers, co-operatives and seafood companies to improve and grow their businesses and operations. BIM provides one on one mentoring with seafood companies to enable them to develop business plans, environmental management strategies and innovation programmes to add value to their existing business. In addition to delivering expertise on business development, innovation and the technical knowledge required to run a modern seafood company; BIM provides grant aid assistance to companies through various programmes including improvements in fishing gear and technology, vessel safety, technology to assist start-ups and environmentally friendly fishing gear.

BIM also provides essential training and upskilling services to the Irish fishing and aquaculture industry. Through BIM’s National Fisheries Colleges in Greencastle, Co Donegal and Castletownbere, Co. Irish Offshore Operators' AssociationFounded in 1995, the Irish Offshore Operators’ Association (IOOA) is the representative organisation for the Irish offshore oil and gas industry. By cooperating and providing a common approach to issues such as safety, the environment, legislation and employment, IOOA pro-actively assists in the development of oil and gas exploration and production in Ireland’s waters.

It is the policy of IOOA members to afford full and fair opportunities to qualified Irish suppliers to compete for the supply of resources and services to IOOA members and their contractors, and to ensure that Irish suppliers are not disadvantaged in competing for such opportunities. The Association also provides a focal point for liaison between companies participating in Ireland’s oil and gas industry and other stakeholders and organisations, such as the fishing industry, environmental bodies, regulatory authorities and Government.
